The ferrite bead is used to eliminate RFI (radio frequency interference) through your USB cable. If you are having problems with datalogging dropping out, or irregular datalogging "hang ups", this can be simply installed over your USB cable and may be all you need to fix the problem. This ferrite bead is for use on the thicker style USB cables such as the cables used for the Moates Ostrich, Demon, Hondata S300, etc.
