OBD1 ECU Coil On Plug (COP) Kit [ with Harness ]

Our HA Motorsports / Apollo Tuning OBD1 Honda Coil on Plug Conversion kit converts OBD1 ECU's with distributor ignition setup to coil-on-plug ignition.  Coil on Plug offers more accurate ignition and stronger spark, for a huge improvement in ignition especially on turbo-charged engines.  The kit includes a COP board that installs inside the OBD1 ECU, and our coil harness to connect your new coils to the factory distributor plugs and the COP board in the ECU.

What ECUs is this compatible with? 

This is compatible with any USDM OBD1 Honda ECU. You do not need to have a chipped or tuned ECU to use this.

What coil packs should I use? 

For D series engines, we recommend D17A ignition coils, for all others we recommend K series coils. We only recommend genuine DENSO coil packs. You will also need a plate to retain them. See our coil mounting plates.

Installation Options:

1. If you are comfortable with your soldering skills, you can install the COP board into your ECU yourself.  This requires proper desoldering, soldering, and you will need to machine a notch in the ECU casing to clear the harness connector.  If you will install yourself, select "I WILL INSTALL MYSELF"
2.  If you'd like us to install the COP board into your ECU for you, we offer this service with purchase for an additional fee.  If you will be shipping your ECU to us for the installation, please select "PLEASE INSTALL FOR ME - I WILL SHIP MY ECU TO YOU".  We will hold your COP kit here and wait for your ECU to arrive, then complete the install, test, then ship back to you.
